Week 8 Reading and Writing

I underestimated how much writing would be required for this class. Actually, let me rephrase that. I underestimated how serious I could find myself getting involved in rewriting stories. Like many in our class, I have taken more than one online course that involved submitting weekly writing to maintain the balance offset by not having in-person class participation. This is a 4000 level course and we have all been doing this type of work for awhile now. I will admit I was looking for a class that maintained a nice balanced between being interesting enough to keep my “senioritus” from taking over while being easy enough to let my “senioritus” pull focus on my core program requirements. After several weeks of loving the content in this class, I have to say, I’m glad I’m here. But, I have some serious work to make up from points missed to an overwhelmed schedule. I appreciate the class structure and the self-elected method, though. Most of all, I appreciate how well this class has brought me back to the love of writing that I lost some time ago.
Overall, I feel fairly agreeable toward my blog format and my storybook webpage. I have tweaked the layout more than twice and I see no reason to change it at this time. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m always open to a great idea!

My favorite reading thus far has been The Divine Archer. I enjoyed the oblique perspective compared to Narayan’s Ramayana. What I can’t decide for myself, is if I would have enjoyed The Divine Archer as much without reading Narayan’s Ramayana first.

In order to make up for lost points in the past weeks, I am looking forward to taking time this week to build up some extra credit through the additional readings. We will see how this helps my growth mindset!
